You should consider establishing a trademark(s) at the start of creating a business  (product or service) before you begin building the brand such as: websites, logos, advertising and more. However, we know most business owners tend to take this action after years of using a business name (sometimes this is due to disputes over usage, and ownership). You should obtain trademark so you can stay in business — with greater wealth. We work with businesses and brands any-time during ownership or creation of a project. Litigation of a disputed logo or name can take years to resolve and require hiring expensive attorneys to manage the opposition. We want help you avoid these concerns before they become future issues – it’s better to start sooner than later. The cost of the trademark is a relative low cost investment in your future success.

Usually, the process takes 8 to 12 months* if you partner with a professional expert like our team.  Registering your trademark is a complex procedure that involves your application moving through various stages. You should count on 9 months if there are no upfront application issues.

There are common elements which will affect the time it will take to reach a successful registration of your trademark. Careful examination of these will help you identify areas in which you can optimize and speed up your application, even though the speed largely depends on the state you’re in.

Length of Steps in the Trademark Process

  • * After successful application acceptance, the trademark office  reviews the application – 4 to 6 months
  • * Dealing with an office action (a document you receive if your application is refused on whatever grounds)  – 4 to 6 months
  • * Period of publication – 2 to 3 months
  • *Offical issuing the Certificate of Registration – 2 to 3 months

Assuming you have to deal with an office action, you’ll get a trademark in about 13-18 months after starting the process. Learning about each aspect of the process will help you understand why it takes so long and what can you proactively do to shorten the length and ensure everything goes smoothly.

However, you can relax, our team will manage the entire process on your behalf.

Trademarks, patents, copyrights, domain names, and business name registrations all differ, so it is important to learn whether a trademark is appropriate for you.

A trademark typically protects brand names and logos used on goods and services. A patent protects an invention. A copyright protects an original artistic or literary work. For example, if you invent a new kind of vacuum cleaner, you would apply for a patent to protect the invention itself. You would apply to register a trademark to protect the brand name of the vacuum cleaner. And you might register a copyright for the TV commercial that you use to market the product.

Depending your business needs and exposure, we will guide you through the ideal types for your business/project. You may need more than one if you have distinct design or creative elements.
